Social Psychology looks at human behaviour as influenced by other people. It is about understanding individual and collective behaviour in a social context.

Our group uses Social Psychology, a book by authors Michael Hogg and Graham Vaughan as our reference. We also use on line articles as a source to the subject matter.

Below are some of the examples of discussions from our last session:

Ø How the media influences societal attitudes (University of Glasgow)

Ø Social media psychology and mental health ( Jafaar Ahmed Iraq)

Ø Theories of motivation…factors that arouse direct goal orientated behaviour. ( Frederick Hertzberg)

Ø What is a Just World Hypothesus? (Merven Lerner) Social Psychologist. Do we reap what we sow?

Ø Theories of the cause of Poverty (David Brady, University of California)

All members of this group participate in the discussions and everyone has a chance to lead with a selected topic. There are no lectures and the sessions are based on topics related to social psychology.
