Our events programme includes a registration day at the start of the session, our AGM at the end of the session, a series of open meetings and occasional social events - these are additional to our group activities.
Open meetings are normally held in St Matthews Church with coffee or tea and a chance to chat from 10am, and announcements and a talk starting at 10.30am. Open meetings are open to all, including non-members. Dates are given below - they are on Monday morning of week 1 of our Outline schedule 2025-26. Past talks have covered a wide variety of topics of interest to members from butterflies to Jacobite history. When the details are finalised, they are added here. The announcements are also shared in our News Roundups. If you have a question about an open meeting, or a suggestion for a speaker, contact Don, our open meeting coordinator.
Social events are arranged from time to time, and may involve an extra charge. They are usually for a limited number of attendees and therefore members have to sign up in advance. Recent social events include: a wine tasting, a visit to Perth museum, a Christmas lunch at the George Hotel, Perth, a gin tasting, a general knowledge quiz and a visit to the Classic Car collection at Scone Airport. Details of social events are given in our News Roundups, by email to all members, and in the list below. If you have a question about an event, or a suggestion for an event, contact Jon, our Social Events Coordinator.
Some events arranged by other organisations are shown on the Non-Perth u3a Events page.
At the first open meeting of 2025-26, Allan Condie stepped in at very short notice and talked about 'The development of churches in Perth'.
