Perth u3a regularly publishes news and information on this website. In addition, information about forthcoming events, news about groups and other notices for members are collected together in our News Roundups, and members with email are alerted to the publication of a new edition. This is usually after each Open Meeting.
Our 40th birthday!
On Monday 4 May, after our AGM, we celebrated our 40th anniversary. Following the AGM, we listened to a historical talk given by a former Chair, Robert Proctor, and a talk with sung musical illustrations given by Nicky Small of PlaidSong. The photos below also feature Jon Babb, the newly elected Chair, giving votes of thanks to Robert and Nicky.

Following a break for a sandwich lunch, we enjoyed - performances by our Ukulele group and by Semi-Tones (our rock/blues/pop group), a demonstration by the Tai Chi group, a reading from the Play Reading group, and Ceilidh Dancing with audience participation. Static displays included knitting projects, themed photographs and pieces of creative writing. All told, we celebrated the depth and breadth of Perth u3a group activities.

At our Christmas Lunch in December, after-dinner entertainment was provided by our very own Semi-Tones Group. A good time was had by all. (December 2025)

Our banner going up in Unit 7
A work party comprising Pete Trant and Dave Smith met in Unit 7 to hang our banner on the wall. The banner was made to celebrate our 21st anniversary in 2006. It needed a little mending by the leader of the Crafts group, Dorothy Traynor, before it could be hung. It has panels relating to the groups available to members at the time. A booklet describing its creation is available near the banner. (August 2024)
