The present group has been in existence since January 2015. Originally one member made a presentation to the group on an aspect of the chosen theme for the session, followed by questions and discussion.
Now however, members are asked to do a little research from the internet, museums, or libraries on the current subject, so that as many as possible contribute.
At the moment our subject is 'Making Things', tracing the history of things made in Scotland - anything at all from buildings to ornaments.
So far, we have moved from the Stone Age through to the Bronze Age, linking general trends to what has been found locally.
Each meeting also features an 'Archaeology in the News' slot.
