Genealogy 2 meets on Friday afternoons of week 2. We mostly meet in Unit 7 but also make use of Zoom meetings when necessary during the winter months.

Our meetings generally focus on sharing updates about our own research and attempting to answer each other’s queries. There is a good mix of experience in the group allowing for the exchange of tips and advice as stories are told or questions asked. Occasionally we focus on a particular theme and last session we discussed how we organise our research, which led us on to an introduction to using digital notetaking software. We also enjoyed a joint session with Genealogy 1 using Zoom on working with DNA matches.

Also with Genealogy 1, some group members attended an introductory visit to the Local & Family History Section at AK Bell Library. All who attended, whatever their experience, found the tour interesting and came away with ideas for future research.
