The most important thing to emphasise about this Group is that we are not all musicians or musical experts. One or two of us are, but most of us are just people who enjoy listening to classical music and appreciate being able to share our experiences with others and to learn from each other.

We have developed what has become a traditional way of operating over the last few years. At each meeting we agree a theme or a subject for the next one and then go away and try to find pieces of or extracts from music which seem to fit the chosen subject. We're not over fussy about keeping to the rules. Nobody gets extradited if their decisions are questioned!

Some of the topics that we have explored in recent times have been:- Myths and legends, The Sea, Very Dramatic Music, Music featuring a solo wind instrument, Trees and Flowers, and  Keyboard music.

We do, however, sometimes depart from that pattern and new ideas are always welcomed.
